Reading Is FAME®
Explorations

OVERVIEW

Explorations is the fourth course in the Reading Is FAME® program and is designed specifically for students in grades 9 through 12 who read below their grade level. Deficits in comprehension and study skills are the primary cause of reading problems in students targeted by this instruction. In Explorations, the goal is to develop students' ability to integrate information in text through both reading and writing. Students are taught how to take notes, outline, summarize and study efficiently in the context of content areas such as social studies, science and the humanities.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This course is ideal for teachers, administrators, special education coordinators, reading specialists and other educators who work with students in grades 9 through 12. Explorations training and consultation services can be provided at the state, regional, district, program, school or classroom level.

Prerequisite: Signed contract for one-day training and follow-up consultation visit.
