Common Sense Parenting
Training of Parent Trainers
TRAINING OBJECTIVES
Common Sense Parenting: Training of Trainers equips you with the knowledge, techniques, and materials needed to conduct Common Sense Parenting classes in your community. You will master the content of each of the program's six sessions. You will become proficient in using Common Sense Parenting's five training components - review, instruction, modeling, practice and feedback, and summary - to emphasize experiential learning. You will also receive a trainer's kit, which includes the three main instructional tools used to present the program - a parent book, narrated videotaped examples of the parenting skills, and the trainer's guide. The three-day training of trainer's workshop includes lecture and discussion, small-group activities, videotaped examples, question and answer periods, skill practice and individual mock presentations.
