We learn from success. We also learn from failure. So we need to put teens in situations where they can make bad decisions, and that's how they learn to make good decisions.
Sometimes we want to protect teens. We don't want them to make bad decisions. We want them to make good decisions. And that make sense, but when we do that, we can stifle their development. They don't get that chance to make a bad decision and to learn from it too.
