What should you do if after reviewing your child's school policy around a crisis and you don't agree with it?

If you have some concerns about school policy around a crisis, first stop and make sure you know exactly what your concern is. Then go ahead and make a call up to an administrator. Ask when that person has time to talk with you, and sit down and very calmly review what your concerns are. Remember, school doesn't want anything bad to be happening to kids in their care either. And school administrators are just as concerned as you are. So if you approach it from a partnership standpoint, and a solution-focused standpoint, I think you'll find they'll be happy to have the conversation with you and everybody will end up feeling safer in the long run.
