If a natural disaster occurs, how do you encourage your child to get involved with helping out?
If some kind of natural disaster happens, or something on a national scale that attracts attention, and your child would like to do something to help, please encourage that. Go ahead and look at the Red Cross website, or make a phone call and find out what's available. Help your child collect supplies, gather, or earn money to donate. It's really good to reinforce that when something terrible happens, lots of people come forward to help and you want to be a part of that. And always as a family within the tradition that you have, make sure that you pray for victims of natural disasters and other crises and that you pray for those first responders as well.
