Bridget Barnes

​​​​​​​​​​Bridget Barnes has over 30 years of experience as a Health and Human Services professional. Before coming to Boys Town, Bridget worked with at-risk and abused families while pursuing a degree in Family Science.

She moved to Boys Town, Nebraska ​and work as Family Teacher for five years. Bridget joined Boys Town's Family Services Research and Development department to assist with creating what is now the evidence-based Common Sense Parenting program. She went on to obtain a Master's degree in Communication's Training and Development. She has relentlessly pursued the Boys Town mission to change the way America cares for children as a Training Specialist, Consultant, and Coordinator and now as the regional Director of Boys Town's Common Sense Parenting program. She has trained thousands of professionals and parents in the US and in other countries.

She is the co-author of the two award winning Common Sense Parenting books that have been translated into seven different languages and has been the content expert on numerous parenting products. As an experienced parenting expert Bridget is known for her skill in developing practical and effective parenting strategies. Bridget is well respected public speaker, a wife of 32 years, a mother of two and grandmother of six. In ​her spare time, she is an artist for ​children's books, an actress and loves to box.

Bridget is also a panelist host on the nationally syndicated talk show, Mom​sEveryd​ay.
