Boys Town North Florida Donations Heat Up at Smoke Off
The sixth annual Carr Allison Smoke Off brought a delicious twist to fundraising for Boys Town North Florida April 10.
“We look forward to sponsoring the Smoke Off BBQ competition each year because of the funds it raises for Boys Town North Florida,” said Ellen Pappas of Carr Allison Law Firm. “Boys Town has wonderful programs giving disadvantaged youth opportunities they might not have had otherwise. It is a great opportunity for Carr Allison and local businesses to have fun and interact with the special children of Boys Town.”
More than 30 businesses participated and donated money to this tasty event. The barbeque contest provided a full day of food and fun for all, while raising vital funds for Boys Town North Florida children and families.
“Boys Town North Florida is a special organization because of the people who devote their time and lives to the benefit of others,” said Chris Barkas, Attorney for the Carr Allison Law Firm. “They give children an opportunity to succeed when they may not have had that opportunity.”
Competition began to heat up as judges walked around and sampled all of the scrumptious barbeque before choosing the winners for the ribs category, where Boys Town North Florida took third, and the open pork category. See a full list of winners below!
