Boys Town North Florida Hosts the Spirit of Youth Gala: "A Royal Celebration"

Boys Town North Florida hosted its 12th Annual Spirit of Youth Gala: “A Royal Celebration” recently at the University Center Club in Tallahassee. The Gala celebrated the resilience of the children and families of Boys Town who have overcome hardships to find healing and hope.

“It was a beautiful event filled with loyal guests who truly care about the children and families that Boys Town serves,” said Dena Strickland, Boys Town North Florida Development Director.

More than 320 guests were in attendance including Governor Rick Scott, First Lady Ann Scott, Commissioner Bryan Desloge, Commissioner Gil Ziffer, and Sheriff Mike Wood. Florida State University College of Music reed quintet played beautiful music throughout the night as guests walked the red carpet and enjoyed royal sounds and a silent and live auction benefiting Boys Town North Florida.

“Our Boys Town alum and speaker, Ashley Jackson brought to life the importance of Boys Town and the positive impact our programs have on children’s lives,” said Strickland.  “With her heartfelt speech, our guests truly realized the difference their support makes; and as a result, 111 Boys Town stars were sold in minutes - and that alone raised $55,500.”
