Boys Town Nevada Receives Surprise Delivery in Time for Super Bowl

Las Vegas firefighters and first responders recently came to the rescue of Boys Town Nevada’s family homes when they delivered five 60-inch flat screen TVs just in time for Super Bowl Sunday.

With help from Boys Town Nevada staff, Operation FireH.E.A.T. snuck into the family homes on Super Bowl Sunday to surprise Family-Teachers® and youth with the new TVs. Youth and Family-Teachers were overjoyed and extremely grateful for the gift.

“The youth were amazed with the new televisions and it was great to see their surprise,” said Robert Barcus, Boys Town Nevada Family-Teacher. “Most of the youth were away from the campus when the TVs were installed, so they came back to see 60-inch TVs ready to go for Super Bowl Sunday — sheer amazement!”

Barcus added how community partners like Operation FireH.E.A.T. mean so much to Boys Town Nevada and their ongoing support helps youth to continue having a positive and memorable experience at Boys Town.

“We are grateful that there are groups and individuals that go above and beyond to make the youth’s experience at Boys Town one to remember,” he said. “Having community partners means so much. Even when our community partners spend time on campus it shows that there are people that care about our youth and want to see them succeed in all parts of their life.”

While the new TVs were a great addition for Super Bowl Sunday, they also promote family togetherness within the homes.

“For my house, having our new television enhances our family movie night,” said Barcus. “There truly are not enough ways to thank all of our community partners for all they do for us.”

Thanks again to Operation FireH.E.A.T. – Boys Town Nevada could not be more thankful for the generosity and support.

Operation FireH.E.A.T. is a local nonprofit comprised of firefighters and emergency responders who raise money to bring joy to both fire victims and children. They have been partnering with Boys Town since Christmas, when they donated a Christmas tree for campus, and brought Santa and a fire truck to Nevada’s Festival of Hope.
