Boys Town’s Alternative to Detention Program (ATD)
This innovative program provides opportunities for court-involved youth to transition from the Juvenile Justice System back to their families and communities. ATD is designed to decrease the amount of time a youth is required to live away from his or her family and increase the support services the family receives in order to assist the youth during this difficult time. The program combines elements of two levels of the Boys Town Integrated Continuum of CareSM — Intervention and Assessment ServicesSM and In-Home Family ServicesSM. The first level assesses and helps identify a youth’s risk level and service needs. The second level provides family assistance and additional supervision for youth who meet the requirements of a discharge plan that is created from the assessment result.
