New York Third Annual Golf Classic Comes in Above Par
More than 70 people showed their support for the children and families served by Boys Town New York at their Third Annual Golf Classic June 28.
Golfers arrived at Glen Head Country Club on Long Island to tee off for Boys Town in the summer heat. After playing 18 holes and various competitions, guests were treated to a dinner reception and program. Al Kensek, a member of the 2010 Golf Classic Committee, emceed the event and presented the awards and raffle prizes.
The golfers and dinner guests were moved by two Boys Town New York youth, Krystal and Hassan, when each took the stage to share their experiences and describe how Boys Town has helped them overcome incredible obstacles in their young lives.
Ira Fishman, Boys Town New York Board Member and Golf Classic Co-Chair, along with Guy Cleveland, also a Co-Chair, shared with the audience how their involvement in the Golf Classic made them a part of the success Krystal, Hassan and so many other youth experience.
“It’s very encouraging to see so many people turn out to support Boys Town New York,” said Cynthia Armijo, Boys Town New York Executive Director. “Where else can you enjoy a fabulous day with 18 holes of golf on beautiful greens, gorgeous weather and save children at the same time?”
