Tree Lighting Fun for Whole Family
This year’s Christmas tree lighting December 8 was all about spirit and hospitality as Boys Town New England children and families welcomed guests to tour their homes and participate in various cheerful activities.
Every home was decorated and, inside, each family hosted a different activity, including pictures with Santa, Christmas carols sung by a choir, music from a live band, storytellers and more. They also provided cookies and hot chocolate while giving youth-guided tours of the home.
During the lighting ceremony, Boys Town Executive Director Bill Reardon welcomed the community and the audience said a prayer before singing Christmas carols. Finally, the youth had the honor of officially lighting the tree.
“The campus was decorated beautifully, as were the homes,” said Boys Town New England Development Director, Debra Sharpe. “Our guests visited all the homes and enjoyed the caroling and all the treats. I think everyone really enjoyed themselves.”
