Tyson Griffin Donates $2,000 to Boys Town Nevada

Mixed martial arts fighter Tyson Griffin recently donated $2,022 from a fundraising raffle he held for Boys Town Nevada.

UFC fans bought $25 raffle tickets for a chance to win two event and after party tickets for Griffin’s fight October 29 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Boys Town Nevada received all raffle ticket sales.

As a frequent mentor to the troubled youth serviced by Boys Town Nevada, Griffin wanted to do more to bring awareness to their plight. “I could have been in their shoes,” said Griffin. “I had a chance to work with Boys Town a couple of times for the UFC and learning about the kids down there and what their situations were, I could relate. Growing up my parents got locked up and I was in foster care for a little bit. I was one of those kids back in the day and I just want to really give back and help those kids understand that it doesn’t matter where you come from, you can still come out on top.”

Boys Town Nevada Development Director Amanda Gibbs says the nonprofit is very thankful for Griffin’s support. “Tyson heavily promoted this raffle fundraiser on his own and we're so appreciative of it. He is bringing awareness to our mission and our cause to save children and heal families in our community. But most importantly, he genuinely cares about the kids he is helping and is dedicated to helping them succeed. He is a great role model for them.”
