Boys Town Nevada Names New Executive Director

Boys Town Nevada’s newest leader, Executive Director Howard Olshansky, is no stranger to the task of serving at-risk children and families. He brings with him over thirty years of experience in the field and an eagerness to continue this work at Boys Town.

Olshansky holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and comes to Boys Town Nevada from the Arc of Piedmont, a nonprofit that serves people with intellectual and development disorders, where he also served as Executive Director.  Among his many accomplishments, Olshansky helped to create the Florida Coalition for Children and has completed several national presentations for various outlets.

“Boys Town has a long tradition of being at the forefront of quality in caring for children and youth,” said Olshansky. "However, we have only begun to touch the surface of the potential for support. I am excited about working with the board and staff to increase the visibility of Boys Town Nevada regarding the important work we do provide for youth and families and enhancing the level of philanthropic support.”

Olshansky began his career in direct services and quickly moved up the ladder to positions that allowed him to plan and implement changes and new programs that would better help youth and families. He hopes to continue doing so at Boys Town Nevada. “There is a great need for services in Nevada and I hope to work with the Nevada community to facilitate bringing the necessary resources and partnerships together to meet the varying needs for youth and families,” said Olshansky.

“We welcome Howard to Boys Town’s family of programs and are confident that he will be a strong and positive leader for the children, families, staff and board of Boys Town Nevada,” said Boys Town Executive Vice President and Director of Youth Care, Dr. Daniel Daly.

"I am delighted to join the board and staff of Boys Town Nevada in continuing a 20-year tradition of providing quality services to children, youth and families in the Nevada community,” said Olshansky. “I look forward to working with the community to ensure children and families have access to a safe and stable home."
