Panda Express Opening Brings in Record Donation for Boys Town

Panda Express employees and Boys Town representatives came together for the ribbon-cutting of the new Papillion location.

Boys Town received over $3,200 in donations from the Panda Express grand opening on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in Papillion.

The first 100 guests received a free reusable tote, and anyone who donated to Boys Town got a free 2-entrée plate. Tracy Truong, Panda Express Marketing Coordinator, said the restaurant gave out 1379 free meals to donors and collected the largest donation the company has raised at a grand opening event.

“Boys Town represents what our mission and values stand for, and we hope that the donations we collected will help even more children and families,” said Tracy. “We know the record donation was possible thanks to support and enthusiasm we got from Boys Town.”

Judy Safranek, Boys Town National Development Officer, said the event was a success. “We are so blessed that Panda Express cares about organizations like Boys Town. Thanks to their donations and support, we can continue saving children and healing families.”
