Boys Town Boosters Give a Record Donation

The Boys Town Boosters presented a record $116,000 donation at the first Cowboys home football game Friday, August 27, 2010.

Boys Town fans had several reasons to cheer on Friday night, with a 33-7 win against the Mount Michael Knights and a record $116,000 donation from the Boys Town Boosters to kick off an exciting football season.

The proceeds of the donation are from May’s Booster Banquet which featured keynote speaker Gale Sayers, a former Chicago Bears running back and three-time MVP. The donation will be used to advance athletics as a vital part of Boys Town life.

The Boys Town Boosters were formed to ensure that any child that wants to play sports has the opportunity to do so. Each year, the Booster Banquet raises funds to provide equipment, uniforms, and other necessities so Boys Town youth can succeed.

“The Boys Town Boosters have played a key role in supporting our athletic programs since 1968,” said Dr. Bob Reznicek, Boys Town High School Athletic Director. “This year’s contributions helped in upgrading the athletic training room and the teams’ laundry facilities in the Field House, and helped fund summer youth athletic camps.”
