Child and Family Support Services

Programs at this service level of the Integrated Continuum offer a wide variety of resources for anyone seeking help. The main goal of Child and Family Support Services is to help people help themselves by providing tools, training, and other services based on Boys Town’s approach to the care and education of children and families. This level focuses on prevention, rather than intervention, and usually does not involve children receiving continual direct care outside the home or direct treatment being provided in a family’s home.

Community-Based Abstinence Education (CBAE)

Funded by the Administration for Children and Families, this program provides instruction in Boys Town’s “Unmasking Sexual Con Games” curriculum, which teaches high school students about unhealthy and healthy dating relationships. It also provides resources for parents and teens that promote healthy relationship choices.

Boys Town National Hotline

The Boys Town National Hotline is a free resource and counseling service that assists callers 24/7, 365 days a year, nationwide. Trained professional counselors provide emergency or direct assistance, or refer callers to community resources. The Hotline specializes in helping children and parents. Since opening in 1989, the Hotline has handled more than 8 million calls.

Your Life, Your Voice

A new feature of the National Hotline created especially for teens is the Web site, www.yourlifeyourvoice.org. This site enables and encourages teens to share their problems, concerns, and challenges in positive, creative ways. Teens can submit artwork, photos, poetry and other means of self-expression, and ask questions and get answers to the challenges they are facing.

Parenting.org

Parenting.org is a free online resource for parents that offers tips, advice, resources, and guidance. This Web site contains practical, skill-based materials and information for parents and caregivers of children of all ages.
