Boys Town In-Home Family Services ® Page Image Page ContentTrained Family Consultants work with families that are struggling to stay together or are in danger of having a child removed from the home. No matter what the underlying cause – economic hardship, substance abuse, marital issues, family conflicts, health challenges or others – the goal is to keep children in the home, or to reunify them with their family if they have been removed from their home. Consultants work right in the parents’ home, helping them to improve parenting skills, create a safe, nurturing home for children and use resources in the community to solve problems on their own. Consultants are on call 24/7 to provide support and assistance. Located in one of the largest school districts in the nation, Boys Town South Florida screens more than 11,000 kindergarten and first-grade students each year in 60 schools. The screenings determine the need for early intervention and in-home and in-school support. On average, 22 percent of children screened are deemed eligible for Boys Town services. Sponsored by Boys Town South Florida, Children’s Services Council of Broward, ChildNet, Inc., Devereux Community Based Care of Okeechobee and the Treasure Coast, Children’s Network of Southwest Florida, and the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families.
