Kyle Patterson and Wells Fargo coordinated the event with $3,000, 25 volunteers and more than 50 Boys Town youth and Family-Teachers ® attending. Wells Fargo provided a photo booth with props for the youth to dress up in and take pictures while making many memories together. The beaming youth received the pictures immediately after, laughing at the funny pictures and venturing off into more activities. A DJ played music as the youth danced throughout the day to "Cupid Shuffle," "Wobble" and other contemporary pop favorites.Different games were played throughout the day with donated sports equipment from Wells Fargo. Ranging from kick balls, soccer balls, basketballs, footballs, cones and more, there was plenty of commotion and activities for the youth to choose from. Hot pizzas and delicious drinks were served to fill the active hungry tummies of youth at play. At the end of the day, Wells Fargo handed out personal hygiene goody bags to the youth including items such as body wash, nail kits, loofahs, toothbrushes, mirrors, and more. The youth all enjoyed being active and engaging with the volunteers and festivities. “It was great to see the kids using their skills to build relationships and ties in the community,” said Nicole Wertz, Family Home Program Consultant, Boys Town North Florida. “Wells Fargo volunteers were so wonderful and they really took the time to get to know the youth. In the future, we would love to continue and establish relationships with the volunteers of Wells Fargo through activities on campus that allow the youth to see that the community truly cares about what happens to them and want to help them learn and maintain relationships.”The day may have ended, but the memories will forever be captured in pictures. Thank you Wells Fargo for a memorable event celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and showing the Boys Town youth that the community cares.
