AXIOS Salt Spa + Juice Bar's Special Connection with Boys Town North Florida to Benefit ART Town Print Content Email Content Friday, Apr 17, 2015 Page Image Page ContentAXIOS Salt Spa + Juice Bar hosted "A Midtown Getdown Health Fair", which raised over $3,500 for Boys Town North Florida’s ART Town in Tallahassee at the end of last year. ART Town is a new project by Boys Town North Florida where the multi-use building center located in the midst of the campus focuses on art, resources and training for the youth.AXIOS chose Boys Town because of the special connection one of the co-founders of the company, Chantelle Yandow, has with Boys Town. Chantelle was a resident at the crisis shelter in Sanford, Florida when she was 14-years-old. Her social worker helped place her with a stable family member, and thanks to Boys Town, she was able to grow up with her papa in a safe and loving environment.Boys Town became her first employer at the age of 15, under a government funded grant, where she learned about the foundation of a strong work ethic and sparked her own passion for community organizing and engagement.Chantelle's story is just one of Boys Town's success stories and she and AXIOS co-founder, Shea Atkin, are dedicated to supporting their presence and leadership in the community.Vendors that participated in the event included: Hot Yoga Tallahassee; Heavenly Facials; New Genesis Center; Elizabeth Rawls; Orange Theory; Namaste Yoga; 100% Chiropractic Tallahassee; Whole Health Clinic ; Fit & Functional; Stewart’s Pharmacy & The Wellness Store; Orchard Pond Organics ; NAI TALCOR; and Whole Foods Market ®.
