The guests were given “passport books” and received a sticker for each Family Home they visited. Each home represented a different unifying element for all levels of care on the Boys Town Continuum of Care. This allowed visitors to get a detailed account of the various services and programs at Boys Town California. After the tour of the Family Homes, guests were invited to vote for the home with the best food, best décor and best hospitality. The Esteps’ Home featured the most delicious treats. The décor at the White’s Home took top honors for décor, and the Kimberly Home with their friendly, inviting atmosphere won best hospitality. The DJ played Christmas carols and a fake snow machine allowed Boys Town California to experience a “white” Christmas. Evidence of the Christmas season was everywhere. There was even an appearance from Santa Claus himself.“One of our Family Homes on campus has young kids. The little ones were so excited to play in the snow and to see Santa,” said Sarah Terry, Director of Family Homes at Boys Town California.
