Boys Town Community Support Services℠

This Continuum service level offers a wide variety of resources children and parents can tap in to for advice and information from our experts on how to help themselves. Most resources focus on prevention rather than intervention.

  • The Boys Town National HotlineSM (800-448-3000) is a free resource and counseling service that assists youth and parents 24/7, year round, nationwide. The Hotline received 5,300 calls from Florida in 2009.
  • Parenting.orgSM is a free online resource that provides practical, easy-to-use materials and information for parents and caregivers of children of all ages.
  • Boys Town PressSM produces books, audio products, DVDs, display materials and other resources to assist children, parents, caregivers, educators and other professionals. Press materials touched the lives of more than 12,000 people in Florida in 2009.
  • YourLifeYourVoice.org is a special website that enables and encourages teens to share their problems and concerns in positive ways and provides access to immediate help in a crisis.
  • Common Sense Parenting® helps parents learn new skills, build on their parenting strengths and develop healthy relationships with their children. More than 200 families and 100 children benefit each year from these classes, which are offered to parents throughout Seminole County.  Parents learn how to increase positive behaviors, decrease and prevent problem behaviors, communicate clearly and discipline their kids effectively and safely.
  • Project Safe Place was started by Boys Town Central Florida as part of the national Project Safe Place program. More than 37 Seminole County businesses and public locations, including the Sheriff’s Office, Juvenile Assessment Center, Juvenile Court House and local fire stations, provide girls and boys in trouble with a safe haven. Boys Town professionals work with these children to identify their needs  and try to reunite them with their family, whenever possible.
  • Comprehensive Behavioral Health Assessments (CBHA) are offered to children in foster care through outside providers working with Boys Town Central Florida. The purpose of the CBHA program is to assess the needs of children and make recommendations on the best possible treatment and care options.
