Wings of Hope Helps Central Florida Youth through Dinner & Auction

For 15 years, the Wings of Hope Foundation has been advancing the Boys Town mission of saving children and healing families through its annual dinner and auction. This year’s event held Saturday, October 2 was another success, raising more than $50,000 for Boys Town Central Florida.

Through their annual event, Wings of Hope also supports two other organizations in addition to Boys Town Central Florida - Intervention Services, Orange County and Children's Home Society, Volusia County.

A youth served by each organization shared their personal testimonial with guests during dinner. Former youth Justin was chosen to speak on behalf of Boys Town Central Florida. He spoke of the social and academic skills he learned and how the staff taught him to cope with his father’s death. Most importantly, Justin was grateful that Boys Town Central Florida took in his siblings so they could remain a family.

But even after the tables have cleared and the auction items are claimed, Wings of Hope Foundation’s support of Boys Town Central Florida doesn’t stop. They also attend many Boys Town events and because of their continuous partnership, will be recognized at Boys Town Central Florida’s upcoming Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.

The Wings of Hope Foundation was founded in 1996 in memory of Brian Lanier, who passed away in a car accident at just 19-years-old. “Brian had a heart for children in need,” said Knox. “We’re so grateful for the Wings of Hope Foundation’s commitment to our community’s youth and their continued support of Boys Town Central Florida.”
