Orlando Sentinel Family Fund Awards $20,000 to Boys Town
Boys Town Florida – Central Region is the proud recipient of a $20,000 grant from the Orlando Sentinel Family Fund, a fund of the McCormick Foundation. The grant will be utilized for the care of children in the Treatment Family Homes, as well as those receiving emergency services in the Intervention and Assessment Center.
“We could not be more thankful and excited to be chosen as one of the grant recipients,” said Terry Knox, Development Director for Boys Town Florida – Central Region. “These funds are vital in providing quality care to Florida’s hurting children and families. More will be able to receive the right care at the right time thanks to the Orlando Sentinel Family Fund.”
Orlando Sentinel Family Fund awarded a total of $613,000 to Central Florida nonprofit agencies. The money comes from donations to a yearly holiday campaign and back-to-school drive, and the donations are matched 50 cents on the dollar by the McCormick Foundation. So far this year, nearly $1 million has been distributed to 36 agencies.
