A Tale of Two Sisters: Adoption Gives Boys Town Foster Youth a New Family

 By the time Alexias and Ayrieal reached ages 14 and 11, they had seen some tough times.  

Born into a family of four siblings, the two sisters were placed into foster care because of their family’s abusive past. But adoption changed all that when Erika and Steven Hubbard accepted the girls with open arms, giving the sisters four new brothers and a chance at a new life. 

Community Brings Christmas to Boys Town Texas Youth and Families

The new year is a bright one for Boys Town Texas children and families thanks to the generosity of dozens of local businesses and community members!

As part of their holiday philanthropy, businesses encouraged their customers and employees to bring gifts for the children as part of the “Angel Tree” project or by “adopting” a family in need of a Christmas miracle.

Nearly 100 people from foster and prospective foster families gathered for Boys Town Texas’ second annual Thanksgiving foster family dinner Friday, November 18.

Boys Town Texas Partners with Pediatricians to Give Families More Services

Boys Town Texas is helping parents and children with a new service that places behavioral health therapists in pediatric offices. This service is now available to families in the greater San Antonio area. This expansion comes after a need Boys Town has seen in Texas and across the nation. 

Boys Town Texas Undergoes Transformation

This fall, 19 volunteers from the United Services Automobile Association (USAA) and student group, Voices, from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), headed to Boys Town Texas to lend a helping hand. After a yearlong drought, the site’s downtown offices in San Antonio were in need of major landscaping and cleanup. 

Chris Finds a Forever Family with the Ann Family

Chris was born into a family unable to care for him. At just two-months-old he was placed in foster care.

Pajamas and Pancakes Provide Donation

Hundreds of pajama-clad San Antonians raced and enjoyed a pancake breakfast for the second annual Pajama Pancake Run on October 1. The event, organized by the Ironman for Kids Foundation (IKF), successfully raised more than $2,000 that will be used to support the youth at Boys Town Texas.

Boys Town Texas Holds CSP Class for Inmates

On September 9, 2011 20 young men currently incarcerated in the Bexar, Texas County Jail received certificates marking their graduation from Boys Town’s Common Sense Parenting® class.

More important than just a piece of paper, though, these certificates represent new parenting skills, confidence and knowledge which will help these fathers reintegrate into society and the lives of their children.
