Renegade, mustang, mosquito and tornado. What do these words have in common? Their roots, like 10,000 other words in the English language, come from the Spanish language - an undeniable influence on our U.S. culture.
In honor of this influence, and Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 – October 15), the youth at Boys Town New York flexed their thinking muscles by delving into Hispanic culture and learning about Latin American countries.

Boys Town New York School Gets a Makeover
Students at Boys Town New York’s Passages Academy began this school year in a wash of bright new colors. Thanks to the help of Publicolor, a non-profit organization that engages students in their education by teaching them how to paint, the walls of the school are no longer simply white and blue. Students now sit in brightly-colored classrooms that were painted by their peers.
