Sardella’s Hosts Pizza Party, Seeks to Raise Community Awareness
Boys Town New England youth received a winter surprise when Sardella’s and Nickolas Pizza teamed up to give them a pasta and pizza party!
Richard Sardella, owner of Sardella’s and former mayor of Newport, knew the boys and girls had some downtime between school semesters and wanted to give them something to look forward to. He not only provided the location of the party at his restaurant, but he also brought in a magician and had an ice cream bar for the kids.
Tree Lighting Fun for Whole Family
This year’s Christmas tree lighting December 8 was all about spirit and hospitality as Boys Town New England children and families welcomed guests to tour their homes and participate in various cheerful activities.
Every home was decorated and, inside, each family hosted a different activity, including pictures with Santa, Christmas carols sung by a choir, music from a live band, storytellers and more. They also provided cookies and hot chocolate while giving youth-guided tours of the home.
“Beantown Meets Boys Town” Event Connects Boston Community
Twenty-four Boston community members enjoyed mingling with Boys Town staff at Boys Town New England’s “Beantown Meets Boys Town” event November 3 at the UMass Club.
The complimentary meet-and-greet party was open to the public, allowing the Boston community to meet key members of Boys Town New England and learn more about Boys Town’s history.
“The idea is to introduce Boys Town to a new audience and try to get some traction in Boston,” said Debra Sharpe, Boys Town New England Development Director.

Spencer was, by all accounts, as uncontrollable as he was adorable, a blond, blue-eyed imp with two missing front teeth.

Spirit of Youth Celebration Raises more than $40,000
Boys Town New England supporters gathered at the Rotunda Ballroom in Newport for the sixth annual Spirit of Youth celebration November 6. The event raised more than $40,000 for the site, all of which will support Boys Town programs that directly benefit youth.
The 130 guests learned more about Boys Town New England’s life-changing care during several presentations and award presentations throughout the event.

Boys Town New England Blossoms Each Spring
Boys Town New England celebrated spring with new landscaping and much more May 11 thanks to the help of interns from Raytheon’s Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP).
As part of an annual project, the ELDP students took time from their studies to clean up the Bazarsky campus. Tasks they performed included: clearing and landscaping a natural rock stairway, re-mulching the playground area, clearing trees and shrubbery for a garden, and breaking down an old, crumbling stone wall.
