Boys Town California Festive for Holidays
Anticipation built at Boys Town California as the youth, staff and more than 50 guests gathered together for an evening of holiday magic for the Christmas Tree Lighting December 10.
Each of the homes on campus was decorated, inside and out, and open for youth-guided tours. The families in each home prepared hors’ d'oeuvres and drinks for the guests to enjoy during their visit. Handmade ornaments were available for purchase from the Boys Town California Youth Government and attendees had the opportunity to donate through a giving tree. Kiwanis International provided a hot chocolate bar and other treats while another volunteer group hosted a cookie decorating table.
“The Christmas Tree Lighting was a big hit!” said Tara Friesen, Boys Town California Donor Relations Specialist. “Our guests had a wonderful time touring the homes and interacting with our youth and staff. The kids did a fantastic job on the décor and refreshments, and taught the guests a lot about their homes and life here at Boys Town California. It was a great way to ring in the holiday season together.”
Boys Town California also hosted Magical Christmas, a party for 20 families in the In-Home Family Services program. The site provided these families with gifts, a Christmas meal and a visit from Santa.
