About Us
Boys Town Washington, D.C. is a nonprofit, nonsectarian organization provides abused, abandoned and neglected children with a safe, caring, loving environment where they gain confidence to get better and learn skills to become productive citizens.

In 2006, 385 children and 89 families received help, healing and hope from Boys Town Washington, D.C.'s Residential Services, Short-Term Residential Services, Treatment Foster Family Services and Common Sense Parenting®. Another 14,517 children and families in Washington, D.C., and surrounding areas were indirectly assisted through the Boys Town National Hotline and through outreach and professional training programs. Recognized for its commitment to children and families, Boys Town Washington, D.C., earned high honors as the Consortium for Child Welfare's Outstanding Agency of Year in 2006.

Boys Town is the nation's largest privately funded organization serving severely at-risk children. Founded in 1917 by Father Edward Flanagan, Boys Town provides direct care to more than 47,000 children and assists nearly 1.4 million each year through its youth and health care programs.

The Boys Town's commitment to helping youth placed it on the list of the 100 Best Communities for Young People by America's Promise Alliance in 2007, its second consecutive award. Boys Town continues to further its mission to Change the Way America Cares for Her Children and Families through its programs by partnering with communities, schools and other child-care organizations in order to meet the growing and more diverse needs of today's children and families.
