South Florida Staff Teams With Robbins Foundation For 13th Annual Basket Brigade
Boys Town South Florida staff members teamed up with the Anthony Robbins Foundation on November 20 to deliver Thanksgiving dinners to the area’s neediest families, as part of the 36 th Annual National Family Week.
“We are very grateful to the Anthony Robbins Foundation for supporting our Basket Brigade and for all of the volunteers who gave us their time and efforts,” said Site Director Amy Simpson.
More than 100 volunteers took 10 and a half minutes to bag a turkey and all the fixings for each of 200 families. The volunteers then delivered the dinners directly to the families’ homes. Each basket included a note: “This gift comes from someone who cares about you. All we ask is that you take care of yourself well enough to be able to do this for someone else someday.”
The Anthony Robbins Foundation is a non-profit organization created to inspire individuals and organizations to make a significant difference in the quality of life for people who are often forgotten. In addition to sponsoring the International Basket Brigade, the foundation has products and programs in more than 2,000 schools, 700 prisons, and 100,000 Health and Human Service Organizations. |
