“Hope for the Holidays” Continues with 90^th Anniversary

Boys Town South Florida youth received a few extra surprises this holiday season, beginning with the “Hope for the Holidays” campaign and continuing with the birthday party of a lifetime.

More than 45 community sponsors provided “Secret Santa” gifts for 400 Boys Town South Florida’s youth, giving them the opportunity to experience the spirit of Christmas. By purchasing a gift off of the child’s wish list, each sponsor truly gave the children a reason to celebrate.

“We are so fortunate to have community members that care for our children as we do,” said Amy Simpson, South Florida Site Director. “They have given so much and we wanted to recognize how their aid helps keep Father Flanagan’s dream alive for our youth.”

The sponsors were recognized at a celebration of Boys Town’s 90^th Anniversary. Sharing cake with staff and board members, sponsors received a warm welcome in appreciation for all they give to the Boys Town South Florida youth.

The surprises continued at the party with a special announcement. As Simpson spoke of Father Flanagan’s lifetime work and the difference the organization has made in the lives of children and families, a revitalized brand and tagline was unveiled to the audience. Amongst the cheers to seeing the new brand “Boys Town, Saving Children, Healing Families,” t-shirts displaying the new image were given and many commented on how great it was to go back to “what we’re known as.”

“We serve more than 2,500 children and 1,000 families every single year in our program,” said Noemi Coltea, Boys Town South Florida Associate Director of Development. “With this new brand, especially the tagline, people in the community will know exactly what Boys Town South Florida does and what we’re about.”
