Boys Town Children Take the Field with Major League Angels of Anaheim
On May 31, three lucky children from the Boys Town California Trabuco Residential Family Services Program experienced the thrill of being at home plate during the pre-game ceremonies of Major League Baseball’s game between the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Baltimore Orioles. In addition, 25 other Boys Town children attended the game as guests of the Angels on Boys Town Night.
During the pre-game ceremony, the announcer presented a special message highlighting the vital services Boys Town provides for thousands of at-risk youth in California. For 90 years, Boys Town has been a leader in the treatment and care of abused, abandoned and neglected girls and boys.
Boys Town took this special opportunity to present Angels President Dennis Kuhl with a 2006 Global Citizen Award in recognition of the Angels organization’s longstanding commitment to community support in general and to youth programs in particular.
Currently holding first place in the American League West and winners of the 2002 World Series, the Angels are one of the most popular sports teams in California and consistently pack the stadium for their home games.
