California Partnership Built on Family
The people of Villa Ford, a family-owned and operated car dealership in Orange, Calif., stay true to their family-oriented heritage by helping Boys Town California care for America's families and children.
"It is an excellent relationship," said John Kohl, Boys Town California Chief Financial Officer, who originally established the friendship 10 years ago. "They do a lot to promote our cause and support our vision of help, healing and hope."
The most recent investment Villa Ford has made in Boys Town is a donation of more than $2,500 benefiting the Family-Based Services Program. The program helps families whose children are at risk for placement outside their home, generally because of abuse or neglect. Family-Based Services began operating as the first program at the California site in 1991.
"We recognized the integrity of the organization and of the people who work there," said Julian Mallin, Commercial Account Manager at Villa Ford. "Providing services to Boys Town is just an extension of our appreciation for what they do in the community."
The partnership was set in motion when Villa Ford sold vans to Boys Town California at a discounted price. From there it expanded with Villa Ford employees visiting the site during open houses and the Ferrari Club of America event last year.
"Villa Ford is basically a Mom and Pop establishment so we don't want to make a big profit off somebody helping someone else," said Mallin. Villa Ford has been owned by the same family for more than 35 years and maintains their founders', the Baldwins, ethical legacy - a firm belief in service, respectfulness and family.
"Local businesses can play a very significant role in helping a child," said Kohl. "We are thankful for the friendship and care of Villa Ford for our children."
