Volunteer
Volunteers bring freshness, diversity, and a multitude of resources, talents, knowledge, and skills that our programs could not singularly provide. If you're interested in volunteering or would like to know more about opportunities please contact our site. Here are just a few opportunities for volunteers:
Tutoring & Mentoring
Tutor a youth in areas such as math, reading, science or social studies. Or, take the time to receive clearance to work with children and become a mentor to one of our kids.
Classes & Seminars
Teach a one-time class on life skills such as job interviewing, public speaking, money management, smart shopping or share a hobby or special talent.
Arts, Crafts and Recreation
Make arts and craft items together that youth can keep for themselves or give to loved ones. Host a basketball tournament or soccer match with residents and staff and your work team or host an evening of board games and cards with snacks and sodas for the kids at our emergency shelters or in our residential program.
Campus Beautification
Create a community service day and bring a team of friends to help revitalize our landscaping with the donation of plants and your time and effort.
Fun Outings & Job Opportunity Awareness
Plan an outing, or provide tickets, to one of the many cultural outlets in California and (a museum, a zoo, a sporting event, the Long Beach Aquarium, Disney Land, Universal Studios). Plan a picnic at the beach or in a park, take a hike or go out for a special lunch or dinner. Our kids appreciate learning about job opportunities for their future they have heard talks from professional sports teams such as the Long Beach Ice Dogs, the Los Angeles Sparks, and visited TV news stations (CBS-TV2), law offices of Holland and Knight, financial offices of Bear Stearns, the Port of Los Angeles and more!
