Cheryl Russell shares story time with the youngest residents at Boys Town California.

Children’s Author Visits Boys Town California

Cheryl Russell, author of the popular children’s book “The Story of the StarHearts,” shared her message about the power light and love has in our lives with some Boys Town California youth April 28 in Trabuco Canyon.

The Pajama Program, a not-for-profit organization that supplies new pajamas and books to kids at Boys Town California and throughout the United States, connected Russell to Boys Town California to make the visit possible.

After reading her inspirational book, Russell autographed a copy of the book for each child in both of Boys Town California’s Family Treatment Homes for Young Children. Russell encouraged the youth to be a “StarHeart Ambassador,” someone who expresses light and love to others.

“Cheryl was truly amazed by the kids she met and what the Boys Town program provides,” said Teresa Dinh, Boys Town California Associate Development Director. “She was excited to give her books a new home and the kids were thrilled to listen to her read the story.”
