New York Yankees Pitcher Helps Promote Boys Town National Hotline
A Yankees hero is urging New York parents to make a simple phone call when they need help at home dial
1-800-448-3000.
In a new public service announcement featuring the Boys Town National Hotline, New York Yankees pitcher Mike Mussina tells parents help is just a phone call away.
“Last year, nearly 75,000 parents and youth in the New York area called for help,” said Ginny Gohr, Boys Town National Hotline Director. “Our hope is that Mike’s message will help even more New York parents connect with this free service and get the help they need to build stronger families.”
In the announcement, Mussina stresses that difficult family situations like in baseball can only be solved through effective teamwork. When parents become overwhelmed making difficult decisions, he urges them to call the Boys Town National Hotline, 1-800-448-3000.
“When it comes to parenting, they’ll definitely help you put together a winning team,” says Mussina in the announcement, which will appear on television stations nationwide this month.
The Boys Town National Hotline is a 24-hour, daily, toll-free crisis and referral service. It is accredited by the American Association of Suicidology and the Council on Accreditation of Services for Family and Children, Inc. It is the only national hotline that is a resource for children and parents, and handles multiple problems.
If you are hurting or afraid, help is available at 1-800-448-3000.
