Intando Musica
On May 9, Somniac Art Gallery, located at 332 E. 116th St., dedicated their opening reception to the Boys Town New York. Artists and social workers came together to share a night of admiration of the creative spirit, as well as bring attention to the accomplishments and aspirations of Boys Town.
Somniac Gallery presented South American and American artists, including the works of Boys Town New York volunteer Brook Christopher. The exhibit featured painting, drawing, sketches, photography, sculpture, collage and live jazz performances. The diverse mix of both art and music provided a wonderful inspiration for conversations about social change and artistic expression.
“It was exciting to be a part of this event,” said Anthony DiLauro, Boys Town New York Executive Director. “I’m grateful for to our volunteer, Brook, for introducing our organization to the gallery director Marina Thomas. Any time two organizations collaborate it brings a synergistic awareness on behalf of both organizations. I look forward to collaborations like this in the future.”
