Recognized as an exceptional steward of its resources, Boys Town Nevada was named Outstanding Charity of the Year by the Nevada Community Foundation.
The foundation, which has supported the organization over the past several years with a total of $150,000 in grants, recognized Boys Town as the southern Nevada charity who uses its dollars in the most effective and cost-efficient manner possible at its Celebration of Giving event Oct. 31.
“We are proud, honored and privileged to be selected by the Nevada Community Foundation as Outstanding Charity of the Year,” said Tom Waite, Boys Town Nevada Executive Director. “The strength of our programs and our commitment to excellence ensures that we are providing the highest quality of care to Nevada’s at-risk children and families."

In addition to being fiscally responsible, Bill Postma, a long-time Boys Town Nevada supporter, nominated the site for its strong quality of programs helping 754 children and 152 families in 2006.
“As a contributor to Boys Town Nevada, I know that both my philanthropic intent and my donations are in good hands,” said Postma, former Boys Town Nevada Board Chair, in his nomination letter. “I know that Boys Town Nevada remains true to its mission for the new millennium – to change the way Nevada cares for her children and their families by providing and promoting a continuum of care that strengthens them in body, mind, and spirit.”
