Former NFL Football Player Eric Hill Donates $5,000 to Boys Town Louisiana
A $5,000 donation by Eric Hill Nissan will help Boys Town Louisiana save more children and families in New Orleans.
Eric Hill, a former LSU and NFL football player who has several auto dealerships in New Orleans and Phoenix, made the donation to Boys Town Louisiana at the grand opening of Eric Hill Nissan's expansion project in New Orleans East on Feb. 24.
“I felt good about the Boys Town program and saw it as something that I could be proud of,” said Hill.
The decision to donate evolved after meeting Boys Town employee Sandra Panna in an airport. While discussing their involvement in philanthropy, Panna invited Hill to visit Boys Town Louisiana. After sharing dinner with a family, attending a Family Day event, and witnessing first-hand the positive effects the Boys Town program has on youth, Hill said the Boys Town organization “sold itself.”
Dr. Dennis Dillon, Boys Town Louisiana Executive Director, said the donation “reinforces the fact that we are not in this alone and there are people who have a heart for children and are willing to open their hearts to help children get better.”
Donating to an organization like Boys Town is important to Hill. Following the mantra “to more that is given, much is expected,” he has always been involved with non-profit organizations. He says his involvement with Boys Town has only just begun.
Dillon stressed the importance of Boys Town continuing to receive support from businesses like Eric Hill Nissan “because we can't do it alone,” citing an Afrikan proverb, “when the spider webs unite, they can tie up a lion.”
