Omaha's O! Comes to Boys TownBoys Town's Home Campus is one of 22 sites in the greater Omaha area to showcase the city's O!. The O! comes as part of the O! Public Art Project, in which 24 local artists will give their creative interpretation of the city's signature logo. Each will redesign a six-foot-tall fiberglass O! to be displayed at different sites across the metro. Project coordinators chose Boys Town to participate in the art project because of the organization's rich history, its unique purpose to help children and families in the community, the campus' prominent location and the high volume of tourists that visit each year. The Boys Town O! will sit in the green space between the Visitor's Center and Youth Care Building on Flanagan Boulevard. It is expected to be put in place about the third week of May. For more information on the project and all the artists who will be working on it go to www.opublicartproject.org. The art project is sponsored by Omaha Chamber of Commerce, Alegent Health and the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts. |
