This second annual event will raise money to directly benefit children and families of Boys Town of Chicago. The Intervention and Assessment home helps at-risk children in the Back of the Yards community.

This event will also honor Mayor Richard M. Daley for his part in helping create a safer city for our children. You can do your part to save children and heal families by purchasing tickets for $300 each or by sponsoring a table.

Boys Town is a beacon of hope for America's children and families through its life-changing youth care and health care programs across the United States. Now 90 years strong, Boys Town is embarking a new mission to affect change in a puzzling system of youth care by building a continuum of family services to provide the right services at the right time based on a child's or family's needs. Partnering with families, our nonprofit, nonsectarian organization provides abused, abandoned and neglected children with a safe, caring, loving environment where they gain confidence to get better and learn skills to become productive citizens. Boys Town works with communities and schools in order to meet the growing and more diverse needs of today's children and families.

In 2007, Boys Town of Chicago opened a new Intervention and Assessment Program and provided temporary shelter for 16 severely at-risk children annually in the Back of the Yards neighborhood. The Intervention and Assessment home can serve 250 to 300 children annually. The nonprofit, nonsectarian corporation was formed in 2004 to assist Father Bruce Wellems, pastor of Holy Cross-Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, and the Back of the Yards/New City community. Significant resources were contributed by the Chicago Archdiocese, City of Chicago and State of Illinois. In addition, 12,319 Illinois children and families were assisted last year through Child and Family Support Services, including the Boys Town National Hotline (800.448.3000). More than 20 youth from Chicago were also sponsored for services at Boys Town's Nebraska campus.
