Boys Town Central Florida Receives $50,000 Grant from The Jim Moran Foundation

Boys Town Central Florida received help in its mission to save children and heal families in the form of a $50,000 grant from The Jim Moran Foundation.

“Boys Town is a critical lifeline to children and families in crisis.  Through intervention services and residential living programs, they provide the services and resources necessary to help restore families,” said Jan Moran, Chairman and President of The Jim Moran Foundation.  The Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life for the youth and families of Florida through the support of innovative programs and opportunities that meet the ever-changing needs of the community.

The grant will be used to support Boys Town Central Florida’s In-Home Family Services – Children in Need of Services/Families in Need of Services. The program utilizes child and parent counseling, therapy and group workshop services to rescue children who are truant, ungovernable, homeless and runaways.

“With this grant, we can do so much to provide the children and families of the area with the right service at the right time,” said Greg Zbylut, Boys Town Central Florida Executive Director.

Boys Town Central Florida helped 1,301 children and 191 families in 2007 through its Treatment Family Services, Intervention and Assessment Services, and In-Home Family Services. Another 17,431 children and families in the state of Florida were assisted through Child and Family Support Services, including the Boys Town National Hotline (800.448.3000).
