Boys Town Central Florida Receives More Than $70,000 to Save Children
Boys Town Central Florida just received a little extra help in their mission to save children and heal families a check for $70,292 from the Wings of Hope Foundation.
The Wings of Hope Foundation, which shares a 12-year relationship with Boys Town Central Florida, is a local charity that works to provide the children of Central Florida a chance at a better life.
“This long-term relationship with Wings of Hope helps us provide a loving, nurturing environment for our at-risk youth,” said Greg Zbylut, Boys Town Central Florida Executive Director.
The donation of more than $70,000 was a portion of the proceeds raised at the 12th annual Wings of Hope dinner and auction. The event raised nearly $100,000 for both Boys Town Central Florida and Children’s Home Society. The donated money will be used to furnish Boys Town Central Florida’s new boys emergency shelter in Oviedo, as well as to provide for diapers, formula and clothing for the infant and toddler shelter.
“It is an honor to support Boys Town,” said Kathy Gautsch, Wings of Hope Foundation President, who founded the organization with her husband, Tony, following the death of her son, Brian Lanier. “They give kids the best chance to make it in life.”
