Christmas at Boys Town

Begin a Christmas family tradition of your own and join us at the Village of Boys Town for a holiday experience you won’t soon forget.

Boys Town offers many events free of charge to families this holiday season.

Christmas Stamps

Nov. 1 – Dec. 31, Hours vary, Leon Myers Stamp Center
View Christmas-themed stamps and covers from around the world at the Leon Myers Stamp Center, located in the Boys Town Visitors Center.

Historic Crèche Displays

Dec. 2 - Jan. 11, Village of Boys Town 
In honor of the holiday season, Boys Town will display three Nativity scenes. The main crèche adorns the Music Hall on Flanagan Boulevard, near the main entrance off West Dodge Road and can be seen for miles. Other nativities are located at Dowd Memorial Catholic Chapel on Dowd Drive, and Heroes Boulevard.

Gift of the Magi

Dec. 2, 7 p.m., Music Hall
Bring your family to enjoy one of the most popular Christmas plays about love and sacrifice performed by Boys Town youth. Following this short performance, everyone will walk over to the Christmas Tree Lighting together.
 

Christmas Tree Lighting

Dec. 2, 7:45 p.m., Village Circle, near Heroes Blvd.
Children and families will light up the tree, and the holiday spirit, by singing Christmas carols. Santa will arrive by fire truck to help flip the switch and bring light and color to the night. All are invited afterwards to the Great Hall for cookies and cocoa.

Irish Christmas at Father Flanagan’s House

Dec. 8 – Dec. 16, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Father Flanagan House
The Father Flanagan House will be dressed in its best Irish Christmas finery, with special displays and decorations throughout the museum. Explore and view displays of Christmas quilts, antique ornaments from the 1920s to the 1940s, and antique toys from the 1920s.
